WOMEN AND FAMILY STUDIES APPLICATION AND RESEARCH CENTRE
ORGANISATION AND CORPORATE STRUCTURE
Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Women and Family Studies Application and Research Centre (TOGUWFC) was established within the framework of the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 08.11.2015 and numbered 29526 in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880. Since 2016, it has started to serve actively.
TOGUWFC
is a research centre affiliated to the Rectorate.
Within the body of the Centre; There is a Board of Directors consisting of the Director, Deputy Directors and academicians from Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, and an Advisory Board that contributes to women's studies with its experience and expertise in the field and academia. There is a director who is still actively working in the centre.
FIELDS OF ACTIVITY OF THE CENTRE:
- To conduct basic and applied research on various problems of women, primarily women citizens living in our country and abroad, in the fields of education, culture, health, economy and politics, to apply new methods of social sciences in these fields and to contribute to various research projects,
- To search for opportunities to ensure the protection, popularisation and development of rights in accordance with the principles of human rights and to provide nationwide education in this field,
- To assist graduate students in their education and training in accordance with the purpose of the Centre and to provide opportunities for applied studies that will contribute to the solution of social problems,
- To direct university students to research in line with the needs of the country in relation to the subject of the Centre, to train them in research methods and to enable them to conduct research,
- To publish journals, brochures, books, to organise social-cultural activities, to create a women's studies archive and library,
- To organise courses, seminars, conferences, congresses, symposiums, panels and all kinds of scientific meetings for the training of personnel at all levels of the public or private sector in the fields of science cooperated,
- To cooperate with similar centres abroad and to organise scientific meetings for this purpose, to exchange students and faculty members,
- To cooperate with other academic institutions, relevant ministries, government agencies, voluntary organisations and international organisations on women's studies, especially on the problem of women's education,
- To endeavour to correct misinformation and misconceptions about women in society by utilising all means,
- To organise and participate in other similar activities in accordance with its purpose.
